In today’s news, the town of Hinokage in Miyazaki Prefecture has issued an evacuation order for all 1,404 households and 3,275 people due to the increasing risk of landslides. The town is at alert level 4, the second-highest level, and is urging everyone to evacuate from dangerous areas.

Moving on to weather news, Typhoon No. 11 is expected to approach Okinawa with strong force starting on September 2nd. The Japan Meteorological Agency is warning residents of Okinawa and the Amami region in Kagoshima Prefecture to be cautious of high waves.

In other news, it has been one week since the release of treated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the sea. So far, there have been no issues with the release facilities, and the tritium concentration in the surrounding seawater remains below the detectable limit.

Turning our attention to international news, Hurricane has made landfall in Florida, USA. Authorities are urging extreme caution as the hurricane could cause devastating damage with high tides and strong winds.

Back in Japan, there are suspicions of African swine fever at another pig farm in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, where approximately 10,000 pigs are being raised. If the infection is confirmed through national inspections, the prefecture plans to request the dispatch of the Self-Defense Forces for disposal.
