Due to inclement weather, the ferry service between Kanaya Port in Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture, and Kurihama in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, was suspended from the first departure in the morning on the 11th. However, it has now resumed operation starting from 8:20 am.

Moving on to our next story, Tora Toda, a former member of the House of Representatives and the founder of the medical corporation ‘Tokushukai,’ has passed away at the age of 86. Toda established the Tokushukai group, which operates hospitals and medical facilities across the country. He passed away on the night of the 10th at a hospital in Kanagawa Prefecture where he was receiving treatment.

Now let’s turn our attention to the weather. Yamaguchi Prefecture is experiencing record-breaking heavy rain, and extremely heavy rain is also falling in western Japan. In Yamaguchi Prefecture, the evacuation orders that had been issued to all 15,220 households and 21,272 people in Mino City have been lifted as of 7:20 am. Additionally, in Niigata City, the evacuation order for 6 households and 18 people in the Taro-dai district of Kita Ward, which had been issued due to the risk of landslides, was lifted at 6:50 am. With these developments, all evacuation orders in Niigata Prefecture have been lifted.

Furthermore, in Niigata Prefecture’s Sekikawa Village, the evacuation order for 240 households and 759 people, which had been issued due to the risk of landslides, was lifted at 6:40 am. Similarly, in Tainai City, Niigata Prefecture, the evacuation order for a total of 1,219 households and 2,662 people, which had been issued due to the risk of landslides, was lifted at 6:30 am.
